When you record your voice for creating podcast it is more than likely that there will be other sounds that also get recorded. If these sounds are not intended to be part of podcast and distract attention, they are termed as noise that reduces the quality of the podcast.
The chance of noise is less if the recording happens in a quiet environment and if the recording device is of high quality. But that happens rather rarely unless you have a dedicated studio for audio recording, or do all the recording at your home or office where external noise is almost absent.
Yet despite all the caution you take, your audio recording may still contain undesired flaws for one or more of the following reasons:
- Drawing sharp breath or taking breath in quick succession while talking

- Minor but sustained noise in the surroundings, like a whirring fan
- Change in the pitch/tone/modulation while talking
- In case 2 or more people are talking as in interviews, varying pitch/tone/modulation for different voices
- Flaw in inserting background music, and inability to control the fade in/out effect
- Flaw in merging 2 or more audio tracks/sources while making final podcast
- Improper editing of the sound tracks while making the final podcast
