These days a video can be made in many ways. This blog has several video articles that explain the various techniques of doing it. For example, you can easily make an online video with just 2 images that are broken into several images, and upload it to YouTube for everyone’s viewing.

In this article we will look at some free photo editing tools with which you can create good videos. First, let’s look at the tutorial video below.

In the video above I’ve discussed 3 photo editing software, one of which is the ubiquitous Microsoft Paint. It is a very simple fare with no glamor of big-time photo editors.

Using Microsoft Paint

Microsoft Paint helps in removing portions of image not required

I use MS Paint whenever I take a screenshot of the screen (Shift+PrtSc). After pasting the screenshot image in Paint (see picture above) I simply omit the portions I do not need for my purpose. This elementary work relieves me of any bother about further omissions in the picture.

Photo Editing With Resizr

Webmasters will agree that while the space is premium in a webpage, there is often no easy solution to accommodate images that are big and bulky, especially if there is no image-resizing photo editor available for ready use.

Resizr is a big help in such cases. It is free and available online readily. Furthermore, no software is to be downloaded, nor an account is needed for ‘signing in’. Simply upload the photo to be edited, and use even simpler tools like the slider at the top to create the most ideal size for your needs, all the while maintaining the much-desired aspect ratio.

Pixlr – The Online Photo Editing Utility

Pixlr is free too and online, but has many features to its credit. What is remarkable is that Pixlr’s photo editing tools are really simple to use. As you may have seen in the video above, you can easily clone any portion of the image with any amount of hardness of the edges.

You can smudge, erase, blur, sharpen, sponge, burn, bloat, and pinch any portion of the picture. And of course it is possible to put anti-alias text on it, and so is to create a color gradient on the picture.

Talking of color gradient, a range of 18 of them is available for ready use. To this add the other options like the opacity, the linear or radial type, the spread method, and a choice of 14 modes. No doubt, you’ll have no dearth of trying out various ways of creating gradients to bring in fabulous changes in the main picture.

As you have seen in the video we have created a total of 21 variants of 2 main pictures using the gradient tools. The images are then stacked one after another with fade-in transitions in between them, similar to the online video we made awhile back with Windows Movie Maker.
