If you are a regular web video maker there is a good chance that you use not one but quite a few video editing tools. There may be many things common among the different tools, yet you’ll find each tool having something unique that you like.
Take for example the Windows Movie Maker (or WMM), the video editing software that comes free with Windows OS. It is simple to use, has minimum frills, and comes with simple interface that doesn’t look daunting to new users.
In fact most video makers I’ve come across thus far cut their video editing teeth with Windows Movie Maker. WMM however has its limitations (more in the video below), and so it is not a surprise when you wander away soon to the comfort of other seemingly superior video editing tools.
Of all that Windows Movie Maker makes possible, I find that some of the video effects and transitions are simply too amazing to resist using. I also like the various ways you can put the title on to your video.
WMM is popular among many web video makers. However, if you’re looking for complete video production with it, you may be disappointed. For, WMM doesn’t do video conversion. That means you need to take the large-sized WMV output from Windows Movie Maker to an efficient video converter to get a lightweight flash video.
Coming to the video below, I’ve used 2 admittedly amateurish video clips, the second one used twice successively. This means I have 3 video clips here, and there are among them 2 transitions, 3 title effects, and a couple of video effects.
They seem to look well when played. Tell us what you think about it, and do offer your comments and suggestions about whether WMM is indeed your favorite video editing tool and why.
I’ve used the NaturalReader 9.0 text-to-speech software (personal version) for voice-over in this video. The result does not seem to impress at all despite several permutation and combination I did for long hours. If you have any experience with NaturalReader, do share with us in the comments below.
