If you are at least waist-deep into video production, chance is real that you have faced the dilemma of video conversion sooner than later. If it is flash to video sometimes, it will be just the opposite on other occasions. And then there are so many different formats in both flash movie and video that it will be a wonder if you haven’t felt perplexed often, undecided on what to do next!

Well, that’s the life with all web video makers, good or bad, and I’m no exception. Getting on to the right technique for conversion is often easier than knowing the right software to use. This is no exaggeration, and I will not be wrong to say that one is really lucky to know and use the best software for video conversion, especially if it is free for use.

There are many opinions, and a large number of them are suggestions based on others’ suggestions. There is no way for you to know which is better unless you use them yourself. For all those mediocre software crowding the scene there are indeed good ones, but usually – not always – you get to know about them from the users’ feedback before trying the trials.

We were lucky to have got hold of the excellent free FLV to MP3 online converter some time back, and so we decided to find out if there is a similarly good flash to video software available free. We searched for the term, flash to video software, in Google and came across AnvSoft at the CNET download site. We got hooked to it as it was free, and downloaded it to try out.

We were happy because we wanted conversion from SWF to AVI, and AnvSoft’s free version offered just that. After trying it out a few times we found that AnvSoft Flash to Video Converter (v 1.2.5) is good in converting SWF to AVI. Since it is free to use, at least for some period, so it seems, you may like to try it out.

According to CNET Download.com, where you can download the software, AnvSoft ranks #17 among all flash software as of this writing, and has seen 193 downloads last week as against 67,327 downloads since the release on July 29, 2008. The average user rating is 2/5 though I feel it perhaps deserves better appreciation.

How Good Is The Flash To Video Conversion?

At 2WebVideo we have used AnvSoft to convert SWF to AVI for some time, and our experience hasn’t been bad. True, a fast flash movie is not quite the original in AVI compared to slower ones, but nevertheless for a time-limited free option AnvSoft converter can be the choice.

The video below explains the process of conversion, and I hope it will help the viewers who feel hamstrung by few good options for video conversion. With AnvSoft too the option is limited to the conversion from SWF to AVI with the free version. The point is, I often say, if you have an AVI video you can pretty well do lots of changes onward. That’s the big advantage.

Okay, here is the video.
