It has been hot and sultry in Kolkata, the place where I live and work in. I’m not workaholic, and given half a chance I’d rather while away reading whatever interests me than be pinned down on my laptop.
But then the call of making a living is too strong to ignore for a long time. This video is the result of that admixture – half willingness, and half the opposite.
I decide to use static pictures for this video which I earlier collected from the web. There are a total of 23 pictures – if I’m not wrong – used in this video peppered with a catchy background tune (also collected from the web; you must have heard this one.)
The theme is what else but my passion to make a good web video.
So here we go, and I start by asking a few questions (after the following video).
Won’t you like your web video to fetch you the results you want? Won’t you like it to be applauded by everyone? Won’t you prefer that your web video stands apart from all others?
You would, you most certainly would! And so would everyone else who makes web video!
So what it is that makes a good web video?
Like most good things in life, a good web video has to have a solid ground to stand on. It doesn’t happen just like that.
Does that sound ominous? In reality there are 3 steps that form the basics of a good web video. Let me compare web video making with say… cooking. That may be easier to explain. Okay, here we go.
Step 1: What’s The Story?
Suppose you have invited guests for dinner, and you know a few among them are vegetarian. What would the menu be? How would you manage the food for both vegetarians and those who are not?
You have to fix a menu that can serve all your guests that pleases them without appearing too obvious.
Like a good menu, a good story is the backbone of a good web video.
Step 2: Gather Ingredients
A good meal is as good as the ones that go to make it – the ingredients. Now what are the ingredients you need?
Well, if they are utensils and raw foods for making a good meal, they are the best software and things like images, audios, and videos for making a good web video.
Step 3: Putting Together
The work of putting everything together comes now. This needs patience and a bit of expertise. Not as grand an expertise to win an award, but at least something to please your guests with – or a good web video in case of your website viewers.
The similarity may seem striking between cooking and making web video. But that is how they both work. That is how a good web video can be made.
At 2WebVideo we think the first step is for you to do. A good story is for you to make. But you will surely learn a lot about steps 2 and 3 with our video making course.
