Rush Hour London In Time-Lapse Video

Comments §

Some time back we had a blog post on time-lapse video. In that there were 2 videos, one on a car park in Toronto, and the other on clouds passing over the Table Mountain of Cape Town.

Time-lapse video is a nice way of capturing events sequentially over a length of time, and may have its own technical utility.

What however mesmerizes is the skill of capturing, and then editing of time-lapse video that can vividly describe events as they unfold.

Below we have another time-lapse video on rush hours in London, and its maker Chris Searson is generous to share how he did it. Here it is before we check out the video.

An experimental Time Lapse film exploring rush hour in London. Inspired by Koyaanisqatsi, the film uses time lapse photography techniques to create the visuals. A DSLR was set up to take a frame every 2 secs with a shutter speed of around 0.3 – 2 secs with an ND8 filter was used to create a motion blur which helps to increase the sense of rush and movement within the film.
